Gaming Nights at the Library!

A fun, new program now occurring weekly at the Ruthven Public Library!
Gaming Nights at the Library!

Come play the Wii at the Library!

The Ruthven Public Library is venturing into the world of gaming.  Not gambling gaming, video gaming!  The Friends of the Library have recently purchased a Nintendo Wii gaming console for the library, and the library has begun gaming programming in November on Tuesday nights after Election Day.

The library board and staff are very excited to be in on this fun new trend in library programming.  Utilizing the ultra-popular Wii console and its games in offering programs, the library hopes to both bring new people into the library and to offer something new and fun.

Along with the gaming console, the library has several games, including the popular Wii Sports and Mario Kart.  The library hopes to add new titles to its collection regularly and will eventually allow them to check out.

The library borrowed a Wii from another agency this summer and used it for its programming.  Needless to say, it was a big hit.

The focus for the programs will be on getting everyone a turn at playing a game chosen by the previous week's participants.  Games will be selected that allow for four-player play.

The gaming nights are held Tuesday evenings from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Consult the Calendar of Events for a schedule:
